HELLO
Tri-monkey coaching is helping athletes achieve their dreams. From completing their first Ironman to winning World Championship Medals. In the world of sport you need to be ahead of the game to achieve your best, not following the crowd.
My goal is to get the very best out of every athlete I work with and to do it with blood, sweat and a smile.

Big weekend - results
A BIG congratulation to Liam Dillon for for his finish at IMUK. Liam finished in a very rspectable 13hr 27m 04s (1:15.14, 7:26.13, 4:31.33). The reports say it was a tougher course than last year and very windy on the bike, just to make it a proper day in the office and another Iron-Monkey.
Sam Herridge and Rhian Roxborough battled it Strathcylde in the Corus Super Sprint. The both made the final with Sam finishing 8th and Rhian 13th. Good job girls.

Rhian is a man beater
Rhian Roxborough set a course record (male and female) at the Llanwrst sprint tri, beating the nearest male by 1min 30s. Simon Roxborough finish 2nd male by 6s and third overall.
It looks like Rhian is putting the icing on the cake for the end of season races.
World Duathlon Champs and London Tri
Nathan Goling finished 5th in the 25-29AG in the World Long Duathlon Champs. Nathan posted very fast 1st and final final runs. Unfortunaltely 3months at sea with a spin bike and treadmill wasn't ideal preparation and he lost time on the bike.
Sam Herridge finished 8th at the London Triathlon. Although she didn't lead out of the water this year she had a good all round permformance for her best result there amongst a very strong field.
Racing their Socks off
The team have contiuned to keep good results flowing with:
Sam Herridge finishing 5th at the ITU points race in Turkey after leading out the swim and then putting a couple of minutes into the field on the bike,
Rhian Roxborough lead the PRO ladies out of the water at the Antwerp 70.3 and went on to finish 10th overall, whilst the Simon Roxborough had a solid day to finish in 4hr 36mins.
Davey Tunney took on a strong national field in the Mourne Olympic Triathlon, in Ireland. He was delighted to post a pb of 2hr 11min and take 11th overall.

On what proved to be a very hot day in the office in Austria 5 more Iron-monkeys are born. congratulations to you all.

In Rohodes at the small Island Games, Sam Herridge continues her winning streak after dominating at Windsor, with a GOLD medal for Gurnsey at the Small Island Games. More from Sam when I get the detials from her.
For Bermuda Kent Richardson finished 15th, again his story will be posted as soon as I get it.
Win at Pembroke for Rhian
Rhian Roxborough, AG bronze medalist and the current welsh champion over sprint, standard and middle distance, won the Pembroke standard triathlon on Sunday.
Simon Roxborough contiued to race himself back to fitness after a nasty accident at work a couple of month ago, although being beaten by the missus again must hurt.
This Friday 6th July see Sam Herridge (Gurnsey) and Kent Richardson (Bermuda) take on the Small Islands Games triathlon in Rhodes, Greece
Geth does it his way in Roth
Thinking he was the incredible hulk he tried to burst out of his suit and the sound of the starting gun. Unfortunately he then realised he isn't as his zip broke and the water poured into his wetsuit. After 10mins of trying to swim through it, he decided to tie the suit to his waste and just plough on.
1hr20 later he emerged from the canal to have the most enjoyable race since his first tri at the Llanberisis Half Ironman.
He soon realised it was gonna be one of those days, but soaked up the atmosphere, saying that it is a race that has to be done, just for the fun of it.

Win at Windsor, frustration at Wimbleball
Sam Herridge won the Nokia Winsor Trithlon, with a comanding performance leading from the gun. This rounded up a great month of racing for Sam, who finish 7th in Glasgow , 8th in Welsh corus elite series and 3rd at the Blenhiem Elite race.
UK70.3 proved to be a very frustrating day for myself. After a great swim, exiting the water in 10th and a speedy transition I settle in a good rythm on the bike, but at 30km I punctured. Proving more difficult than normal to fix, I lost 20mins and was out of the race. I decided to continue, but a steady pace and have a good training day. I f

Yet again more outstanding resuts from around the globe. At the The Beaulieu Triathlon James Ridout produced a life time best 3rd place. Not bad for a Ironman in training.
In Bermuda Kent Richardson took a break from triathlon to compete in his National Time Trial Championships. Kent finish 4th, even though he thought he had another lap to go and hadn't given it his all.
Ellen Charlney qualified for the Clearwater 70.3 World Championships at the Balckwater Eagleman, posting a time of 5hrs30mins (31, 2:50, 2:00 +T's)

This weekend Dave Tunney finished 2nd at the NaasWheelWorx Du, near Dublin. In his words:
'There was some decent competition at the race and before hadnd I had reckoned that I would end up about 8th or 9th.
I did a decent warm up on my turbo and on the run and I felt ready for the race.
Recently I've not been able to run "fast" so I wasn't expecting great shakes on the runs, I expected to have

Rhian sets course record!!
Rhian Roxborough set a new course recorded in winning the 3rd Epic Events Winter Duathlon. Simon Roxborouh finshed 7th setting a new pb for the course.

3rd at Castle Combe
On Sunday 9th March at Catle Combe, team coach, Rich Brady placed 3rd. He put together a consistant performance even splitting the 2mile runs and posting the 3rd fastest 10mile ride of the day.
'I'm really pleased with my form and feel ready to start my build up for Ironman Lanzerote'.
The Italian Job 2008
This year I scaled down the camp as group of athletes I am working with needed a little extra. All the athletes have international level targets this year strating with the Olympic Games, ITU elite racing, Age Group Medals in Vancover and qualification for Clearwater 70.3 world champs.
Over the 10 days the group logged up to 45hrs of training each and quietly pushed each through each day. Half of that was on the bike and the rest a fairly even split between the swim and run.
The team are now home and resting hard, as their early season targets loom.
Italy training camp
Training camps are meant to be tough, but the 2007 campers made my job a challenge by giving me the following the extremes: -
Ability range novice to ITU World Cup top 10 performer.
Distance range never done a triathlon to Ironman regular.
Age range 19yrs 48yrs.

Rhian's Welsh National Champ
Rhian's storming season continues by adding the Welsh National Standard Distance title to her CV. She was also crowned Gatorade athlete of the Month in May http://www.tri247.com/article_3435.html and just missed out on a medal at the ITU World Champs in Vancouver.

Simon and Rhian Roxborough both won Silver medals at the Welsh Sprint Championships at the Tuska Triathlon. Rhian took second place to Beijing bound World Champion Helen Tucker. Flora Duffy won the Bermuda National Duathlon Champs on Sat 12th April. She lead from the gun, leading the men into T1. Kent Richardson was close on her heals and smoked the bike course, posting the fastest time of the day. Unfortuanetly for Kent, bad cramps saw him limp across the line for 2nd, whilst Flora cruised in for the win. Rhian Roxborough battled the elements at Parc Bryn Bach, on Sat 19th Apr, in the British Elite duathlon to take Silver. She raced solo, during the cold, wet and windy conditions, which saw many of the Elites drop out. Simon Roxborough p
