About me:

I love training; it gives life rhythm, and structure. It’s the time when your mind can clear and there nothing to think about other than your interaction with your body and external environment. Sometimes it’s a drag getting yourself out of bed, but you know you’ll buzz when the session is done, and you’ll get pay back on race day. Racing is a great feeling, particularly when you hit peak form. The feeling of flying coupled with the ability to push further and harder makes training through, wind rain, sleet, ice, darkness and a numb backside worthwhile!

Rich’ keeps my training interesting and progressive; his positive and organised approach helps me keep my focus on getting my sessions done to the best of my ability. Most importantly he makes sure I hit form when it matters.

 

Favourite pre race meal: Pizza, carbs….good, tomatoes…..good, meat…..gooood!

 

Sporting Heroes: the kids who whoop me in every swim training session, Mohammed Ali, Chris Eubanks, Steve Bull, Lance Armstrong, Stephen Roche, Kelly Holmes,

 

Favourite Race: Bala Standard Distance

 

First Win: Llanrwst Hill Climb 2006

 

Ambitions: To go faster than last year.

 

Favourite training: Long runs in Snowdonia, open water swimming, early morning summer rides…sod it, I love it all!

 

Best racing moment: Coming out of the water in Hamburg Age Group Champ’s 2007, to see and hear what seemed like a wall of people and noise. Yeah…. I want more of this!
